In the quest for a more suitable URL, the guide has been moved to emailsecurityguide.wik.is. Therefore, any edits you make here will be completely useless. Pleas make them at the new location. Thank you.
Email encryption is something that most geeks find to be quite easy. However, it is an imensly complex subject for the average computer user. Yet email privacy is something that is more important than ever, given the recent trend for more and more governments to spy on average citizens.
What follows is an email privacy guide, written for the average computer user. The guide is meant to be platform independent, meaning that the reader can use it, no matter their operating system of choice. However, all of the tools used in the guide are comprised of Free and Open Source software.
The guide is in a very early stage of development, and contributors are needed. We spcificly need contributors with experience in Windows (XP and Vista), Mac OSX, Linux, or all three. All content will be licensed uner a Creative Commons license, so please do not contribute until you are sure you agree with the terms.
I'll be blogging about the project on my website as it progresses, and have made a Encryption Guide tag for all posts related to this project. If you decide to participate, please make sure to subscribe to this RSS feed and join the project group (aka mailing list).
